Didi started school at St Joseph's Primary in 1952. Three years later, the family moved from Tulsemere Road in South London to Blenheim Park Road, South Croydon to the house in which Didi's mother had grown up. The family stayed there until Kathleen and Maurice's retirement in 1980 when they moved to Felcourt, near East Grinstead
